Mawu-Lisa is a creation story according to the beliefs of the Fon people and the Vodún tradition. The film has been made partly through a community-based process, involving children and young people from Grand-Popo as well as artists from both Benin and Finland. "Kulttuurien väliset sillat " projekti alkoi vuonna 2023. Grand Popon (Benin) ja Tampereen (Suomi) koulun oppilaat tekivät elokuvia koulunkäynnistä ja omista paikkakunnasta.

The "Bridges Between Cultures" project began in 2023. Students from schools in Grand‑Popo (Benin) and Tampere (Finland) created films about their school life and their local communities.

LA MER SERA BELLE | THE SEA WILL BE BEAUTIFUL

Benin 2023. In the past, the beaches were beautiful and the sea was healthy and clean. We humans have damaged nature with our waste. It is time to change our ways so that our oceans can thrive again. The film takes a stand on the harmful effects of plastic.

This animation was created in collaboration with twelve boys aged 12–15 who live in Grand‑Popo, Benin, right by the sea.

Elokuvatyöpajojen organisoijina oli Flying Elephant Films (Hyderabad, 2008, ) sekä CIFEJ ja Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, KISS (Bhubaneswar, 2015)

The organisers of the film workshops were Flying Elephant Films (Hyderabad, 2008) as well as the International Centre for Films for Children and Young People, CIFEJ and the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, KISS (Bhubaneswar, 2015).

ANIMATION- & DOCUMENTARY WORKSHOP  Bangladesh 2015

Videootit ry järjesti Bangladeshissa, Dhakassa yhdistetyn animaatio- ja dokumenttityöpajan yhteistyössä Rainbow Film Society:n , Dhaka International Film Festivalin sekä ULAB mediayliopiston (Media Studies and Journalism Department of the University of Liberal Arts) kanssa. Työpajaan osallistui 30 osallistujaa. Työpajan vetäjänä oli Maikki Kantola. Bangladeshin päädyssä koordinoija ja yhteyshenkilö oli Ahmed Muztoba Zamal.

Videootit ry organised a combined animation and documentary workshop in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in collaboration with the Rainbow Film Society, the Dhaka International Film Festival, and ULAB's Media Studies and Journalism Department (University of Liberal Arts). The workshop was held on 3–10 January 2015 on the university premises and brought together 30 participants. The workshop was led by Maikki Kantola, with Ahmed Muztoba Zamal serving as the coordinator and local contact in Bangladesh.

Iranissa, Isfahanissa, pidettiin lapsille reilun viikon mittainen animaatiotyöpaja, missä syntyi kaksi elokuvaa. Yhteistyökumppanina oli Farabi Faundation, International Film Festival for Children and Young adults sekä Kanoon (= Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults)

In Isfahan, Iran, a week‑long animation workshop was held for children, resulting in two short films. The project was carried out in collaboration with the Farabi Foundation, the International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults, and Kanoon (the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults).

Animaatiotyöajan yhteistyökumppanina Kiinassa oli Children Film Assosiatio (CCFA), The 12th China International Children's Film Festival sekä Sipingin kouluvirasto ja Sipingin lukio numero 3.

The partner organisations for the animation workshop in China were the Children's Film Association (CCFA), the 12th China International Children's Film Festival, the Siping Education Bureau, and Siping High School No. 3.
